Vnetrix hosts innovative new site for the Kaiser Chiefs
Vnetrix is proud to announce it was chosen to design and deploy a new hosting infrastructure for the Kaiser Chiefs.
B-Unique/Fiction Records (part of Universal Music) have torn up the rule book with the release of the new Kaiser Chiefs album "The Future Is Medieval" which combines a DIY element and rewards buyers.
Twenty new tracks have gone on sale on the band's new website www.kaiserchiefs.com which allows fans to compile their own bespoke album. It has also engineered a social networking mechanism that will allow fans to make money through distributing their album online.
Fans are able to listen to 60 second clips of each song and choose 10 tracks for £7.50, select & manipulate artwork from a choice of 20 covers and list tracks in whatever order they wish to create their own album.
Purchasers are then able to post links to the album online through their social media and if their friends buy it they will be reimbursed £1.
A Kaiser Chiefs fan can therefore have total empowerment and can A&R the record, design the artwork and market it plus possibly make a profit!

Vnetrix help Take That make excellent 'Progress' on Re-Union Tour Ticket Sales Day
The Take That official website www.takethat.com was developed internally by a Universal Music design team and deployed on new architecture designed by Vnetrix. The hosting included multiple web servers backed up by a cloud based content management network. The flexibility of the cloud meant the infrastructure was able to handle the huge volumes of fans trying to buy much sought after re-union tour tickets at 9am onwards on the day the tickets went on sale.
The re-union of Take That and the subsequent tour announcement, created massive media interest including national news exposure and fans across the country were desperate for tickets. This showed in TakeThat site statistics, with it showing over 6 million page views on ticket sales day and the vast majority of them in just a few hours after the tickets went on sale at 9.00am.
Beverley Dean Head of eCRM Digital UK Universal Music said “It was vital that the website was available to keep fans up to date on the latest tour news. Vnetrix worked closely with our Digital and in-house design team to ensure during this critical period that the infrastructure handled the massive volumes. Whist the ticketing sites collapsed under the strain I was extremely pleased to see TakeThat remain up throughout the day. The exposure was a massive opportunity for us to showcase the new site to a huge audience for the first time and to encourage repeat visitors, so it was vital the site remained accessible at all times throughout the day.”
The customised solution combining dedicated servers and a cloud based content network delivered a highly scalable cost effective hosting solution.
Robert Norman CEO Vnetrix commented “we are proud to be part of the phenomenal day last Friday when Take That sold over one million tickets for their 2011 re-union tour. It was a great team effort working closely with the internal Universal Music teams to collectively deliver on the day”.
From now and through next year the Take That hosting infrastructure will continue to evolve to meet the changing demands placed upon it.
